The EFREI is a leading
French engineering school with more than 60 years of teaching experience. When
founded in 1936, degrees were granted in radioelectricity and in 1969 a computer
science department was developed. Today more than 1,000 students attend classes
at EFREI.
The lessons and lectures take place on a friendly campus of 8,000 square
meters located close to Paris. The 5-year curriculum leads to a "diplôme
d'ingénieur ", a degree acknowledged by the French Ministry of Education. During
the first two years, all students attend classes in math, physics, electronics
computer science, communication and foreign languages. Then they specialize in
one of the three majors : electronics, telecommunications and networking, and
computer science. The chart on the opposite page shows the curriculum in
details. Moreover students conduct team projects in order to apply and develop
their knowledge The equipment of the 16 laboratories in which these numerous
projects are carried out is renewed every three years.

school of engineering called Grande école d'Ingénieurs. They train very high
level graduate engineers who receive a thorough training in Electronics,
Telecommunications and Computer Science, so that they are qualified to to meet
the needs of the emerging industry industry. Moreover, in order to cater for
international students who are looking for a more specialized training, ISEP
will offer an international Master's program, from October 2001 on. One course
